The Deputy Chief Minister and the Director General of Police, Punjab under the garb of streamlining security, have withdrawn all four security personnel posted for my protection. This conspiracy against me has been hatched as I have been a vocal critic of not only the CM, Dy. CM, DGP. During my course of politicking, I may have annoyed many forntmen and goons sponsored by the ruling elite including Bikram Majithia.
Needless to mention, certain actions of mine have been extremely irritating for the ruling dispensation, that include my protest outside the Oberoi Trident hotel of Sh. Sukhbir Badal at Gurgaon. I tried to block the luxury buses of the Dy.CM at Jalandhar to focus hijack of transport trade by the Badal family, where I was arrested. Similarly, I was one of the petitioners to shift the case of disproportionate assets against the Badal family outside Punjab in the Supreme Court. I also opposed tooth and nail illegitimate grant of Rs 1 crore to Sanawar School by Sukhbir Badal. I have also opposed the illegal and violative appointment of Sh. Sumedh Singh Saini as DGP since criminal proceeding are underway against him in a special CBI court at Delhi.
To top it all, my political rival Bibi Jagir Kaur now convicted instigated a mob against me on 01.04.2012 at her village Begowal, holding me responsible for her conviction. The protesters forced a ‘Bandh’ in Begowal on that day and held out direct physical threats against me, which is a matter of record.
Fearing for my life, I met the Governor of Punjab on 04.04.2012 and gave a representation for further strengthening of my security. Action on the directions of the Governor, the IGP Jalandhar wrote a letter no. 6314 dated 31.05.2012 to me stating that after assessing the threat perception, four security personnel have been assigned to me.
I want to question the Government as to what ground reality on threat perception has changed in merely nine months, that calls for withdrawal of my security?
The security reviews is only a farce to target political opponents, while criminals like Bibi Jagir kaur have 25 security personnel, her son in law has 2 policemen, Sucha Sing Langah, Nirmal Singh Kahlon, Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Ranjit Singh Brahmpura all Ex MLA’s like me, have more that 50 policemen each with two Gypsy escort and pilot vehicles.
The fact is that the present ruling alliance cannot digest my dissent, criticism or opposition and can have me eliminated physically, it could be an armed attach or a road accident. Whatever the reason, the Government would be directly responsible for any harm to my life or that to any member of my family.
