"School's award ceremony" celebrated with lot of fanfare
at tagore threatre.
The jam-packed hall of Tagore Theatre sparked with extra energy, where the Annual Cultural Show of KBDAV-7, Chandigarh – "Amritanjali" was celebrated with the gala performances of 900 school children who reflected rich cultural heritage of India through their energetic dance performances.
Eminent educationists and notable personalities from various fields were present to grace the occasion. Smt. Madhu Bansal, wife of Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, Hon'ble Railway Minister, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest of the day. Dr. R.S. Khandpur, Director General and creator of Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, Shri Ravinder Talwar Ji, Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, Dr. Subhash Marriya, Regional Director, UP & UK Zone & Manager of the School were among other distinguished dignitaries who graced the occasion. Tricity School Principals, North Zone Regional Directors were some of other invitees on the show.
The grand opening of the cultural bonanza was a traditional welcome of the dignitaries with Phulkari followed by lamp lighting on Shloka Uccharan and Gayatri Mantras.
Principal Madhu Bahl addressed the gathering and read the Annual Report of the School highlighting the achievements of the activities of the year. Chief Guest Smt. Madhu Bansal Ji released the CD – "Images 2012".
The hi-point of the day was "Scroll of Honour" – Excellence Awards Ceremony, where nearly 100 students were awarded in various categories. The 36 students who excelled in Class X, CBSE Exam 2011-12 with CGPA-10 were awarded. Various Sports category awards were given and above all the budding Vedic Aryas – students who excelled in Vedic Mantra Uccharan were awarded on stage at the hands of the Chief Guest.
It was a treat for the eyes for the parents present at the show who witnessed live cultural performances of their ward performing on the stage one after another which was an amalgam of India’s rich culture. The colourful programme comprised of various performances one after the other that stole the hearts of the audience.
The show started with “Ganesh Vandana” where students attired in traditional costumes captivated the audience with their powerful dance moves.
KG Students showed unbridled enthusiasm in presenting their dance. The Theatre reverberated once again with the zestful performances by Tiny-Tots on the famous dance numbers, 'Disco Diwane & Chand Tare'.
'Gunguna' dance by Class V students grabbed the attention of the audience with their well synchronization and presentation. Dance by Tiny-tots 'Ramba Mein Samba' left everyone spell bound with their mesmerizing performance.
‘Randha wants to dance’ – dramatized the desires of modern Radha in a graceful and elegant manner.
The catchy number‘Dabang’ being imitated by every boy now-a-days was a favourite of all and the rip-roaring performance had the hall rocking throughout.
Other dance performances were the Rajasthani Folk and remix of dance numbers that captivated the audience with their electrifying performances.
The complete cord of the show was the vibrant and exuberant ‘Punjabi Bhangra' that indeed forced the audience to tap their feet in Punjabi style.
The show ended with Grand Finale where Principal, Staff and Students together merged their dance movements with one another holding national flag and candles in their hands.
