Self Defence Training workshop for Women organized by MIW Foundation with support of Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd.

“MIW foundation with support of Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd. has organized a Self Defence Training Workshop for girl student of Gyan Mandir Public School, Nariana Vihar, New Delhi conducted by Delhi Police. The workshop commenced from 18th December and ended on 31st December, 2012 whereinmore than 140girl students benefitted from this workshop.”

New Delhi,  MIW foundation with support of Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd. has organized a Self Defence Training Workshop for girl students of Gyan Mandir Public School conducted by Delhi Police in the school. It was more than a 10-day Training workshop where more than 140 students participated and were trained on various techniques of Self Defence.

The workshop deliberated on various dimensions of training in self-defence to the girl students of the students including psychological and legal aspects as well as the role of police. The participants also discussed the methods of self-defence like Judo - Karate, Tae-kwon-do etc.

The workshop was a tremendous success with students turning out in large numbers and they all felt encouraged by the endeavour of the workshop to enable them fight the evil of eve-teasing and other sexual harassment.

Dr.Kiran Bedi was the Chief Guest of Valedictory Ceremony of Self Defence Training Workshop for Women. In th Funtion Certificates of Participation were awarded to Mr.Vikas B Sharma (Director), Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd.); Ashish Bhutani (Managing Trustee), MIW Foundation;Delhi Police Team, Mr. Prashant Khosla Vice President Gyan Mandir Public School and Mrs.Suman, Principal, Gyan Mandir Public School and other teachers and staff of school who actively participated in this workshop to make this workshop a sucess”.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Ashish Bhutani, Managing Trustee, of MIW Foundation said,“These kinds ofworkshops should be conducted not only in Delhi but every state of India. It builds more confidence in girls and I think these kinds of workshops are necessary for all girls seeing the present scenario of our country.”

Mr.Vikas B Sharma, Director of Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd.expressed his concern over safety of Women in India and shared that we will get similar sessions conducted in other cities as well. We already have been working with NGO - MIW Foundation for other noble causes and going forward we will work together for such concerns in our Country.”
