Chandigarh 30 November :- A Consumer Awareness Workshop wasorganized by BSNL Chandigarh Telecom District in Telephone ExchangeBuilding Sector 34 Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Sh. J S
Sahota, General Manager Telecom District Chandigarh. On this occasionGeneral Manager Telecom addressed the customers and gave details aboutthe customer grievance redressal mechanism in BSNL. The consumerswere also briefed about the achievements and development in thetelecom sector by BSNL, Chandigarh. Telecom Consumer ComplaintsRedressal Regulation, 2012 and Telecom Consumers Protection
Regulation, 2012 and the mechanism used for its implementation wasexplained in detail. The Open House session was attended by 20-30customers who submitted their valuable suggestions.Sh. Surinder Verma President, Citizens Awareness Group (Regd) werealso present in the session and addressed the participants. Hehighlighted the importance of consumers rights and dealt on thevarious grievance redressl mechanisms. Sh. Verma informed about thelatest regulations of TRAI which have come to effect recently . Theefforts of BSNL in attending complaints were appreciated by everybody.Some customers also submitted their complaints about their telephonewhich were heard by The General Manager and he assured that quick and
remedial action will be taken
